The Purpose, Benefits, & Goals

The student can have a comprehensive overview of Buddhism and fundamental Meditation. Each module is complemented with Chan meditation practices, social and community activities to achieve a wholesome education which can be applied to our daily living.

What is Breathing Meditation

Breathing meditation is a widely practiced form of meditation known for its simplicity and effectiveness in reducing stress, improving concentration, and enhancing overall mental and emotional well-being. It serves as a foundational practice in various meditation traditions and is accessible to both beginners and experienced meditators.

What is Walking Meditation

Walking meditation is an excellent way to enhance mindfulness, reduce stress, and bring a sense of calm to your daily routine. It can be practiced in various settings, from a quiet garden to a busy city sidewalk, and it is often used as a complement to sitting meditation practices.

How to Cultivate Awareness

Cultivating awareness is an ongoing process, and the more you practice, the deeper your awareness will become. It can lead to a greater understanding of yourself and the world around you, reduced stress, improved focus, and a heightened sense of presence in everyday life.

Course Overview

什么是静坐? 如何通过静坐提升身心的状态?
我们欢迎您报名参加由法谦法师授课,为期8个星期的华语静坐入门课程。课程内容包括:

 

1. 什么是静坐?

2. 数息的方法。

3. 经行的方法。

4. 工作坊。

5. 通过静坐看清楚自己的 身心状态。

静坐入门课程第一课

示范和指导静坐和经行静坐时应注意的事项:

 ① 时:子时(11pm-1am)、午时(11am-1pm)的考量。

② 处:通风为宜,避开易受干扰的地方。

③ 身:饮食节制,姿势端正,避免昏沉。

④ 心:不执着也不反抗妄念,避免压抑。

讲解“拉回眼前”

① “眼前”顾名思义就是眼睛前面。当我们的眼睛一往下垂,目光焦点停留在离眼睛约一尺的地方,就能够马上把外在的干扰降到最低。通过眼睛带出“眼前的觉受”就是“眼前”的意义所在。

② 简介眼前(觉性)的作用

觉性(能知的心):能看(眼)、能听(耳)、能嗅(鼻)、能尝(舌)、能感觉(身)、能想(意)。

从“拉回眼前” 达到收放自如

① 由外往内,眼睛下垂,暂离外境。

拉回眼前(觉性),清楚觉知而又不执着的状态。

注意身(痛、痒、呼吸-长短快慢等)和心(情绪、心念-起伏、不满等)的感受。

② 轻重缓急

简介静坐方法和澄清误解

① 简介静坐方法

止(正念-定) :数息、念佛、持咒等。

观(正知-慧) :无常观、因缘观、慈悲观等各种观法。

重点:拉回眼前,保持清清楚楚地知道自己在做什么、说什么、想什么。

② 澄清对静坐常见的误解: 见光、气动、走火入魔等。

静坐的本质

① 内省的功夫。

② 减法、回头是岸。

Ven. Shi Fa Qian

Venerable Shi Fa Qian received her ordination in 1988.

After graduated from the Taiwan Fu Yan Buddhist Institute, she subsequently obtained a Master Degree in Literature from the University of Nanjing.

Ven Shi Fa Qian is the Chairman of the Administration & Human Resource Committee and the Investment Committee. She was the President of the Executive Committee of Sagaramudra Buddhist Society from 2012 to 2024.

Besides assuming the management roles, she is a Senior Lecturer for the Mandarin Progressive Dharma Course and Mandarin Introductory Meditation Course. She is also the Editor and Writer for the Society’s publication <Present Journal>.

1988年出家。

法师早年毕业于台湾福严佛学院,后考获南京大学文学硕士学位。

法师目前是行政和人力资源委员会以及投资委员会的主席。自2012起,法谦法师担任海印学佛会理事会的会长直至2024年5月卸任。

除了管理者的角色,她还是华语成长学佛课程和静坐入门课程的资深讲师。法师也是学会《目前》刊物的编辑和撰稿人。
